Bike and Boat

Catch a morning cruiser with Windermere Lake Cruises from the pier at Bowness and arrive at Lakeside, where you'll pick up a quality Trek bike for your ride from our cycle centre.

Customers on a 2 hour ride can choose a circular route through Finsthwaite and Newby Bridge or head for Haverthwaite following the steam train and the River Leven.

On a 4 hour ride you can choose to ride to Cartmel or Hawkshead. Both are picture-postcard Lakeland villages with a choice of pubs or cafes for lunch. The Hawkshead route also passes Hill Top, the farmhouse where Beatrix Potter wrote lots of her children's stories and was model for the 'Samuel Whiskers' illustrations.

For the more adventurous, a ride to Grizedale Forest offers some technical off-road tracks under the stunning forest canopy!
Finally head back to Lakeside to return your bikes and relax on the leisurely cruise back up the lake Windermere to Bowness.
