Our Windermere Centre is conveniently located on Windermere Railway station, close to the village centre. Bowness village centre is only 1.5 miles away and Ambleside 4 miles north.

• Windermere is accessible from Junction 36 off the M6 (approximately 30 minutes from J36) • Join the A590 towards Kendal • This road becomes the A591 as it passes Kendal, follow signs for Windermere • On reaching Windermere turn left, then immediately left again and follow signs to the railway station • We are located on the railway station platform, limited car parking is available
By Rail
To reach Windermere station you must change trains at Oxenholme–The Lake District. Trains run regularly from London-Euston and all major cities and towns. For up-to-date information on train schedules, journey times and fares on trains into Windermere visit the TransPennine Express web site.
By Bus or Coach
Windermere’s main bus stop and National Express coach pick/drop off point is at the railway station, within metres of Country Lanes Windermere. Our Lakeside Centre is located behind the Aquarium of the Lakes, in Lakeside village. Grizedale Forest is only 4 miles away and Bowness village is 8 miles away.

Windermere Lakes Cruises regularly sail from Bowness to Lakeside.
